Privacy Policy

Finance Chauffeur (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides free financial-education content and an optional paid “Pro” tier with personalized money tools. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Our guiding principle is the same as the product: collect as little as possible, and never sell your data.

Information we collect

• Account information.When you create an account we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your basic profile (name, email, and an account identifier) — we never receive your password. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only Apple’s private relay address.
• Financial information you enter. If you use Pro, the budgeting and dashboard tools store the figures you choose to enter — such as account balances, debts, transactions, savings goals, and bills — so we can compute and show them back to you.
• AI Money Coach conversations. When you use the coach, the messages you type are sent to our third-party AI provider, Anthropic(Anthropic, PBC), which processes them to generate a response. Only if you separately and explicitly turn on “use my data” is a snapshot of your figures also included. Anthropic acts as our service provider under terms that prohibit using your inputs to train its models and require protections consistent with this policy. You are asked to agree to this sharing before your first message is sent, and you can decline. We don’t send your data to the coach for advertising, and we don’t sell it.
• Payment information. Pro subscriptions are processed by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number; we receive only confirmation of your subscription status.
• Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser/device type, timestamps) used to operate and secure the service.

Free content needs no account

Every lesson, glossary term, and calculator is available with no account and no email. We only collect account or financial data when you choose to create an account or use the Pro tools.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
• To compute and display your personal financial figures (Pro).
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send essential account emails (verification, password reset).
• To process and manage Pro subscriptions.

Service providers we share with

We share data only with the vendors required to run the service, each acting on our behalf:

• Google & Apple — optional sign-in (OAuth / Sign in with Apple).
• Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC) — powers the AI Money Coach. The messages you type to the coach are processed by Anthropic to generate replies. Anthropic acts on our behalf under data-protection terms that provide protections consistent with this policy and do not use your inputs to train its models.
• Stripe — processes Pro subscription payments.
• Resend — sends account emails (verification, password reset).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account and financial data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time (see your choices below); when you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we must retain limited records to comply with law (for example, payment records).

Your choices and rights

• Access & deletion. You can request a copy of your data or delete your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.
• Coach data sharing.The “use my data” toggle is off by default; turn it off any time to stop sending your figures to the coach.
• Marketing.We don't send marketing email. The only emails we send are essential account messages.

Children's privacy

Finance Chauffeur is intended for users 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit what we collect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
